Personal Statement:
People who enter therapy are struggling with a range of emotions such as
hopelessness, grief, anxiety, fear, loneliness and anger. I continuously strive to foster
a safe, therapeutic environment where a person can feel comfortable expressing his/her
innermost thoughts and feelings. My belief is that for therapy to be successful a
connection needs to be established between the therapist and the client. This connection
is cultivated when a therapist is empathic, caring, genuine, and an advocate for his/her
clients. My approach towards therapy is active and integrative in nature. I utilize those
treatment methods most likely to be effective with a clients specific problems and
concerns. This approach increases the likelihood that therapy will be both effective and
lasting. I truly feel that it is an honor and a privilege to be able to help people to
heal and to grow.
