Thomas
Hammerman is a marriage and family therapist with an extensive background and expertise.
He was a postgraduate clinical fellow at The Family Institute at Northwestern University.
He holds a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy degree from Northwestern
University and received his clinical training at the Family Institutes Bette D.
Harris Family and Child Clinic. While at the Family Institute he was a member of the
Family Business Program, where he conducted research as well as provided consultation to
family businesses.
Thomas Hammerman received his Bachelor of Arts degree from St.
Johns College in Annapolis, Maryland. In addition he also holds a Master of Library
and Information Science degree from Dominican University.

I am an expert in human problem-solving. It is my mission to find a way to help people
with their concerns and alleviate their symptoms. I customize my therapy to my
clients needs and goals. I understand that you are coming to therapy because you
want help and wish to improve the quality of your life. I will work with you to find out
what is the best way for you to achieve your goals and accomplish your dreams. I take a
practical approach to therapy because I understand that you want results. Whether you are
unsatisfied in your relationships or struggle in your everyday life, you don't need to
suffer alone. I am here to help.

Thomas Hammerman has extensive experience in working with couples, individual adults and
adolescents, and families. He has special training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
for couples as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for individuals.

American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) as well as the International
Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT).
